National leader in gender equality for more than 20 years

GenderA sign of Alcoa’s commitment to inclusion, the company has been recognised for the 21st year as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Federal Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency.

Designed to encourage, recognise and promote an active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces, the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation is a voluntary leading-practice recognition program.

It reflects Alcoa’s commitment to take deliberate, strategic actions to drive positive change towards gender equality including:

  • Better support structures in place for working families
  • Stronger actions to address pay inequalities
  • Strategic recruitment and promotion practices to encourage the full participation of women at work
  • Flexibility and actions to support men and women in obtaining a better work/life balance

Alcoa Vice President Operations – Australia Michael Gollschewski acknowledged Alcoa’s Inclusion and Diversity vision to provide trusting workplaces that are safe, respectful and inclusive of all individuals and that reflect the diversity of the communities in which Alcoa operates. 

“To be awarded this citation for the 21st year running is an incredible achievement and a sign of Alcoa’s strong commitment to making our workplaces equal,” Mr Gollschewski said.

Workplace Gender Equality Agency Director Mary Wooldridge said: “After passing through our evidence-based benchmarking evaluations, our EOCGE citation holders are officially recognised as some of the best employers in Australia who are committed and dedicated to action in achieving gender equality.”
