Alcoa Foundation Launches Inclusion Groups Impact Fund with Grants to 9 Organizations for International Women’s Day

Alcoa Foundation is launching the Inclusion Groups Impact Fund, earmarking $250,000 this year for philanthropic giving that is aligned with Alcoa Inclusion Groups' priorities of supporting communities.

The first grant recipients have been selected in collaboration with the Alcoa Women’s Network in honor of International Women’s Day. The Foundation is giving one $10,000 grant in countries where Alcoa operates to organizations focused on helping women and girls. Local Alcoa Foundation representatives worked with local Inclusion Groups to identify grant recipients in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Spain, Suriname and the United States.

The IG Impact Fund is a chance to tap into an energetic, engaged network of employees to amplify positive impacts in the communities where Alcoans live and work. It is also part of Alcoa's continuous efforts to enhance Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) strategies and initiatives.

"This is an opportunity to promote our values in the Foundation’s grantmaking,” said Caroline Rossignol, President of Alcoa Foundation. “Inclusion Groups are filled with employees who volunteer their time, talents and enthusiasm to create positive outcomes in their workplace and their communities. We’re excited to harness their passions and amplify our collective impact.”

The IG Impact Fund will be centered around four campaigns each year tied to international days of recognition. Future campaigns will be aligned with World Day for Cultural Diversity (May 21), International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day (June 28) and International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3).

There will also be more opportunities for employee engagement, such as matching gifts and "dollars for doers," where the foundation will give $10 per employee volunteer hour.

“This initiative demonstrates the impact and profound influence we can have on both our employees and the communities where we operate through volunteerism and Inclusion Group engagement,” said Tiago Betti, Alcoa’s Global IDE Director. “We are striving to make continuous and sustainable progress embedding the inclusion lens into our processes and practices to make sure they reflect our values and business strategies.”
