Greening Australia

In Southwest Victoria, over 75% of Manna Gum woodlands have been lost due to agriculture, threatening native biodiversity. Alcoa Foundation supported Greening Australia, an organization that will help restore ecological connectivity across 18 million hectares and 12 national parks in the region. This effort is part of Habitat 141, a 50-year initiative supported by an alliance of active partner organizations to reconnect landscapes along the 141st longitude. By reestablishing corridors for wildlife across these iconic regions, the project supports a more sustainable future for Victoria’s unique ecosystems.
