Alcoa recruiting trainees and apprentices now
Alcoa is now recruiting trainees and apprentices, continuing its proud history of providing jobs and growth in the South West and Peel regions.
Process Plant Operator Traineeships are on offer at the Wagerup Alumina Refinery. The 18-month traineeship combines on the job competency based training working in a challenging and high-tech environment while undertaking TAFE studies. High performing trainees will achieve a nationally recognised Certificate III Process Plant Operations qualification.
Motivated, safety conscious, positive people who are committed to excellence and a willingness to learn are also sought for apprentice positions at Alcoa’s alumina refineries in Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup and bauxite mines in Huntly and Willowdale.
First class apprentice training, which could open a world of career opportunities, is being offered for industrial electrical instrumentation technicians, mechanical fitters, fabricators/welders and heavy-duty plant mechanics.
"We look for people with demonstrated problem solving and communication skills and who like to broaden their horizons by being involved in their communities and other activities," Alcoa Human Resources Director Brian Doy said.
"Apprentices and trainees play an important role in Alcoa’s future. Alcoa has a proud history in Western Australia and the Peel/South West regions, employing more than 3750 people and contributing hundreds of millions of dollars each year to the WA economy.
